The October Issue

Remember that major No. 1 on my Thirty in Twelve? An apartment in Manhattan. I signed my lease today. Come October 4th, I'll be a resident of New York City.

Now on to the rest of that surmountable list. Bring it.

No. 1: CHECK.

#8. Run a marathon

While we're at it, let's get an obvious one out of the way.  Running a marathon is an increasingly-present item on one's "Bucket List."  But, this is me and while lofty, let's be real.  The furthest I've ever physically run in my life was 6.5 miles and that's because the people organizing the 5K forgot to tell us to turn around.

I do, however, like to say I ran the 2009 Boston Marathon . . . ran it via my sister's rock star marketing skills, that is.  Sister did the P.R. and marketing for the most-respected marathon in the country and I got to "run" it through her updates ("Team Hoyt has arrived"), excitement ("Kara Goucher takes third!"), physical weariness ("Up at 5 a.m.") and words.

Check marathon off my list - permanently.
